Stikeman Elliott LLP is seeking a Marketing & Business Development Specialist to join our team in Calgary. This role is suited for an individual with three to five years of relevant experience, ideally in a professional services environment. We are seeking a candidate interested in the fast-paced legal environment—a proactive team player with superior communication skills and keen attention to detail. This role involves a balance of independently managed projects and support for broader team initiatives.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Organize and support client events including vendor relationships, budget management, invitations and list management, RSVP tracking and onsite responsibilities.
  • Organize and support client ticket program including allocation, distribution, tracking and reporting.
  • Support office sponsorship and tables program including financial arrangements, branding, tracking and communication with internal stakeholders.
  • Act as the Calgary power user for InterAction, the firm's CRM database, including report development, event support, and coordination with national data quality initiatives.
  • Oversee client holiday initiative, including gifting and holiday card programs.
  • Manage supply of promotional merchandise including vendor relationships, ordering and inventory.
  • Complete research and prepare marketing intelligence.
  • Support compilation of directory submissions, including management of references.
  • Support compilation of proposals and credentials packages.
  • Support lawyer speaking engagements, profile updates and other marketing content requests.
  • May perform other duties or projects, as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Three (3) to five (5) years in a previous related role.
  • Degree or diploma in marketing, communications or a field related to law.
  • Previous experience in a professional services environment, with events and/or with CRM systems such as InterAction would be considered significant assets.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, and attention to detail; strong organizational, project management and multi-tasking skills.
  • Proactive team player who can work, communicate and foster strong relationships effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders.
