We're seeking an experienced Wills & Estates paralegal to join our established team. This comes as we celebrate the upcoming retirement of a key team member who has been with us for nearly 40 years. While it's certainly big shoes to fill, you won't be doing it alone. We've already expanded the team to ensure you have the support you need.
We're looking for an experienced legal assistant or paralegal who can manage estate administration files from P1 notices through to final distribution, accounting, and releases. To succeed in this role, we think you need at least 5 years of experience in Wills & Estates, a solid understanding of the Supreme Court Rules, and the ability to conduct standard due diligence searches. However, we know years worked and experience are not the same thing, so we're open to hearing about your specific experience so long as you have achieved the ability independently and at a high level in estate administration.
You'll work closely with a team of exceptional professionals, including 4 other support team members dedicated exclusively to Wills & Estates, and a friendly group of passionate lawyers. Our team collaborates closely to ensure tasks are effectively distributed, and in this role, you'll focus on high-level drafting and file management as the key point of contact for clients.
We are well-established in the Fraser Valley, having operated from the same building in Abbotsford since 1971 (which we now own) and recently expanding to a second office in Langley in 2023. As a full-service firm, we've proudly supported multiple generations of families, homeowners, businesses and Fraser Valley residents with all their legal needs for over 50 years.
At our firm, we believe in the importance of flexibility, and our partners are committed to an open-minded approach—always ready to consider possibilities rather than just saying 'no'. We trust our team to meet their professional obligations and offer flexibility in how and where they work. For this role, we offer a hybrid Abbotsford/Langley/work-from-home schedule, typically after successful completion of probation, so you can get familiar with our systems and we can get to know you.
We are driven by CARES, our core values which guide everything we do:
These values shape our workplace culture and client relationships, and we are looking for someone who shares this vision to help us continue to grow and succeed.
We value our diverse and inclusive workplace and it is important to us that you do too. We strive to foster a culture of belonging, where we respect and even celebrate our differences while remaining united as a team that reflects the diverse communities we serve.
If you're excited to join a supportive, dynamic team and take on a new challenge, we'd love to hear from you. Click HERE to see our full job posting, submit your application and take the next step in your Wills & Estates career!
