The Customer Network Planning (CNP) team is responsible for the end-to-end deployment of TELUS PureFibre Network. The Land Solutions team within CNP serves as a critical business unit responsible for safeguarding TELUS' infrastructure through strategic land rights acquisition and management. The team expertly navigates complex property negotiations, ensuring legal access and protection for TELUS' telecommunications assets while facilitating seamless network expansion and maintaining positive relationships with private property owners and stakeholders.


As a Senior Real Estate Manager, you will play an integral role with supporting the negotiations of TELUS' land access agreements alongside TELUS internals teams including, Planning and Engineering, Regulatory, Legal, Risk Management as well as external stakeholders. With strong project management skills you will manage existing portfolios of land tenure and provide expertise in the areas of property acquisition, land rights and land survey.


What you'll do

  • Responsible for all real estate transactions related to acquiring, permitting and maintaining land agreements supporting the placement of TELUS network infrastructure.
  • Negotiate with a variety of landowners such as federal, provincial & municipal authorities, railways, utility companies, commercial & industrial business owners, strata's, and residential owners regarding land access within the confines of strict regulatory and statutory authorities.
  • Acquire different forms of tenure, included but not limited to: statutory right of ways, easement, permits, licenses, leases.
  • Evaluate procedures and implement improvements to drive efficiencies on the delivery of projects.
  • Develop business case and operating expense plans to achieve cost containment of lease operating budget for new acquisitions or major contract renewals .
  • Balance numerous priorities while adapting and anticipating changes

What you bring

  • Advanced understanding of the real estate, land-use authority, and federal government requirements necessary for telecommunication network expansion
  • Proficient ability to read and interpret contractual language, ideally in the context of land tenures, development and construction drawings
  • Exceptional ability to navigate high-stakes negotiations, articulate complex concepts clearly, and craft persuasive business communications that drive stakeholder alignment and achieve desired outcomes
  • Excellent project management skills with a proven track record for managing and prioritizing multiple concurrent projects and consistently delivering results and effectively meeting program milestones
  • Exceptional communicator with a knack for effectively interacting with both internal and external stakeholders including landlord or government authorities



Great-to-haves

  • Working knowledge and experience of right of way acquisition
  • An understanding of telecommunications network infrastructure, deployment and operations
  • Strong research skills and analysis skills with good attention to detail and an ability to provide insights and make recommendations
  • Experience engaging with Indigenous communities and commitment to reconciliation
  • Proficiency with Google Suite (Slides, Docs, Drive, Chat etc.)
