Council & Committee Services is responsible for managing the operations of the City Council, its Standing Committees, Advisory Committees as well as other ad hoc committees, task forces and groups, including the administrative process related to City Council meetings, assembling and organizing all communications, correspondence, submissions, reports, motions, and other documents required to provide for the orderly conduct of Council meetings.
You provide administrative support to the Council, Standing Committee Coordinators, Manager and other members of the branch. You assist in making arrangements and preparing agendas for committee/council meetings, attend committee/council meetings, and liaise with the public, the media, staff, Councillors and their assistants.
Completion of Grade 12 plus at least 1 year post-secondary education in either a university degree program or a business, secretarial or administrative diploma program
Completion of the Municipal Administration Program would be an asset
Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience, preferably in a municipal government setting, including minute taking
