About the job
Your responsibilities will include: • assisting the Trial Coordinator in maintaining court lists utilizing established scheduling practices • processing documents and orders; liaising with Trial Coordinators, judiciary, counsel, other staff, and the public regarding the scheduling of matters • identifying and bringing issues that may affect the schedule to the attention of the Trial Coordinator(s) • assisting in the preparation of statistical information
What you bring to the team
Technical Skills:
• You have knowledge of the functions and rules of the Superior Court of Justice, relevant legislation and legal terminology
Analytical and Problem Solving Skills:
• You have judgement and problem solving skills • You have the ability to work independently and as part of a team • You possess analytical skills to assist with the compilation of statistical data
Communication and Organizational Skills:
• You have organizational, coordination and planning skills to assist with the scheduling of court sittings • You have the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities • You have communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with tact and diplomacy with judges, staff, counsel and the public
Computer Skills:
• You are proficient with computer applications (word processing, presentations, spreadsheets, databases, email, Internet and management information systems)
