Reporting to the Senior Director, Business Development & Client Services, the Business Development & Pricing Analyst will support the development, execution and evaluation of business development strategies in the Toronto Office by:

(i) Providing financial, business intelligence and competitive research analysis and reporting

(ii) Servicing our internal clients by assisting with formal and informal proposals, particularly with respect to mandate pricing.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead pricing initiatives and assist BD team members with RFPs, client pitches and proposals.
  • Conduct research, analysis and reporting utilizing internal databases and subscription-based databases (e.g. Capital IQ).
  • Provide quantitative analyses and reporting on client relationships and practice groups to senior management to support the development and implementation of business strategy.
  • Provide lawyers and members of the business development team with billing history summaries for the purposes of evaluating existing client relationships and pricing potential mandates, on an ad-hoc basis.
  • Create client-facing dashboards that visually show the firm's relationship value to clients and reports that track file progress against mandate budgets.
  • Manipulate basic code in SQL Server Management Studio to extract data to perform operations in Excel and utilize data visualization skills to present meaningful metrics in a client-friendly format.
  • Act as the primary contact for the firm's experience management platform, working closely with Information Technology, Knowledge Management, Marketing and other key stakeholders to support data integrity and operation of the platform.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • 3 or more years of relevant work experience
  • Undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Data Analytics, Marketing or related field
  • Proficiency with data analytics and data visualization
  • Experience and proficiency using Microsoft Excel and SQL preferred

  • Ability to work independently and in a team, handle time-sensitive requests from multiple stakeholders and to generate quality work product in a fast-paced environment
