The HR Business Partner will play a crucial role in strategizing, planning and delivering HR services in support of our overall firm priorities. You'll consult with business leaders and work collaboratively with HR team members and subject matter experts to deliver HR solutions that move our business forward. This contract opportunity is to cover a leave of absence on the team and comes with full health and dental benefits. The successful candidate will be asked to work on-site a minimum of three days per week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overall, you will partner with business leaders and subject matter experts to provide support with talent acquisition, talent management, workforce planning, learning and development, employee relations and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Provide full-cycle recruitment for respective client groups from job posting, to candidate sourcing, screening, assessment and offer negotiation.
  • Proactively coach and advise the Business Services leadership teams on the design, implementation and evaluation of core human resource solutions that contribute to business goals and support a high performance culture
  • Provide thought leadership across a variety of topics to support the achievement of business results including: talent acquisition, development and retention; organizational effectiveness & design; performance management; and employee engagement
  • Partner with clients to identify and understand strategic people issues and provide advice and expertise to develop innovative solutions
  • Lead key projects in support of defined business goals
  • Assist in the development and implementation of new HR-related systems and processes
  • Provide ongoing HR consulting services to employees and leaders on HR programs, practices, policies, legislative and regulatory requirements
  • Interpret and analyze data to assist in making appropriate business decisions based on HR metrics and trends
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with relevant legislative requirements (e.g. project managing compliance with AODA, including development of communications and arranging for accommodations for firm members when requested)

Knowledge and Experience:

  • 8-10 years' experience in an HR role; ideally in a professional services firm
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology or other related field
  • CHRP Designation is required, CHRL considered an asset
  • Sound knowledge in all HR disciplines including: talent acquisition, performance management, strategic workforce planning, compensation, team member engagement and learning/development
  • Strategic big picture, innovative and creative thinking
  • Demonstrated track record of driving results, meeting client commitment and corporate objectives, within a matrix-structured organization

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence, with the ability to quickly demonstrate credibility and develop strong partnerships with individuals at all levels
  • Ability to develop rapport with a variety of personalities and maintain a calm and professional demeanor during stressful situations
  • Ability to effectively prioritize a fast-paced and varied workload and effectively manage a variety of concurrent and shifting priorities
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Tech Savvy but comfortable with both paper processes and online HR systems
  • Strong consultative, influencing and negotiation skills
  • Analytical and integrative critical thinking skills
  • Demonstrated organization/project management skills, with the ability to work both independently as well as collaboratively in a team/committee environment
